A solo exhibition of new paintings, watercolours and charcoals by William Brickel.
Each of Brickel’s pictures holds a single instant from a play that exists only in his head, the held breath after a cue, when the house has emptied and the performer, still in role, keeps that burning ear turned to the dark like the ghost light a theatre leaves on its empty stage overnight, listening for whoever may have stayed behind to watch. —Matthew Holman
